Positive Mentality

I haven't posted about anxiety in awhile. I think it's just because I've been doing well, so it's not really crossed my mind as much. Instead of overthinking things daily or bi-daily (if that's a word), it only happens when I'm doing something completely new.

Become Your Own Therapist Using CBT Workbooks

Before I started seeing a CBT therapist, I had a tendency to have really bad days and really good days.

On really bad days, I'd feel entirely hopeless and shut myself off from the world. On really good days, I'd believe that I'd never have a bad day ever again. The problem was, I did have really bad days afterwards and they hit harder because I did nothing to prevent them. I'd have a good day and forget I was ever sad.

Just like fitness, you have to keep working at it.

Healthy vs. Unhealthy Beliefs

CBT teaches us the idea that anxiety occurs through an event or trigger which leads to a belief which then causes consequence(s). We do not have control over events or triggers, but what we do with such is very important.

Through CBT, I've learned about the different kind of beliefs—healthy and unhealthy and I am working on turning my unhealthy beliefs into healthy ones.

Anxiety Feeds Off Boredom

The average person has around 60,000 thoughts per day. How much bullshit are you telling yourself and how much of it do you believe? How much time are you wasting in your head?

If you're feeling sad or anxious but you don't know what's triggering it, you might just be bored.
